Horror of cruel war,

Soldiers close the door.

Boys no longer in school,

Now used as a war tool.

Hiding in a muddy trench,

Inhaling a metallic stench.

Rifles loudly firing,

War ever so tiring.

Shells dropped here and there,

Bloody corpses everywhere.

Millions of soldiers die,

Their families all cry.

Soldiers fight for glory,

Soon they’ll be sorry.

Fighting like slaves,

Yet no proper graves.
